One of the most prominent assignments that you will be asked to do in school is writing a research paper. It is a large assignment that is designed to have you look deeper into a subject in the course that you are taking. When writing this type of paper, it is perceived that you will have to understand the concepts that you are being taught in class. That is why it makes such a great evaluation tool. However, if you are not good at writing research papers, then it will be harder to show that you understand the topics that are being taught.
A great way to know how to write an excellent research paper is to know the various parts that are involved in writing a paper. Here are the basic parts of a research paper.
The first page of your paper will differ depending on the writing style that your instructor requires you to use. If you are using the APA formatting style, the title page will be separate on its own page. If you are using the MLA format, this section is included on the first page right above your text. It gives all of the pertinent information.
This is where you will introduce your topic and give a little background information on it just to make sure that your audience understands it.
In this section, you will give your audience an idea of the sources that you used to create your paper. These sources need to be credible.
You will explain how you conducted your research study in this section. Let them know about the methods that were used to help answer your research question.
Give an analysis of the data that you collected from your research. You can look at the strengths and weaknesses of your research and of the things that you could have done better.
In this section, you will present your results. You can use graphs, charts, diagrams, and written text to explain your findings.
Next, you will discuss the results that you found. You will also include how the results could affect the field of study. This is probably the most important section of the paper.
Wrap your paper up and touch back on the key points that you learned through your study.
You will need to list all of your resources that you used to write the paper and conduct the research. Make sure that they are properly formatted.
